The University of Notre Dame and the Ara Parseghian Medical Research Foundation have formed a partnership dedicated to finding a treatment for Niemann-Pick Type C (NPC), a rare and deadly neurodegenerative disease that primarily strikes children before and during adolescence. This alliance will provide a new and highly effective model for research on rare and neglected diseases.

With the ultimate goal of saving lives, Notre Dame will work with the Ara Parseghian Medical Research Foundation to raise funds to sustain an energetic program of NPC research at Notre Dame and with collaborators worldwide.

The 2016 Parseghian Classic, a golf fundraiser benefiting Nieman-Pick Type C research, will be June 24-27, 2016.
